.
People will try to push against your boundaries, they want something else from you or they want more than you have already given them. And it may have been a lot you gave them.
.
What do you do then?
Do you yield to them?
Do you feel guilty?
Do you put yourself down?
.
If yes to the above - is it time you had a good talk with yourself?
.
Is it time to ask yourself -- is everyone else more important than you are?
If you are not in your core self, happy with who you are, and you cannot embrace your own wants and needs -- who will?
Practice will make you stronger.
.
The next time someone wants something that doesn't work for you, and it would compromise something in a way that is not good for you, try in a polite way explaining what you need or want and why. If they still push on what you have said, and they counter it with
"but I only ...
or you don't undestand me ..."
remember this is not about them. This is about you - and what you need and want.
.
As uncomfortable as this might be, it can define your True Self, and ultimately will make you stronger.
.
If you allow people to bypass you and leave you behind, by giving up what you need and want ... how open will you feel going forward, and how strong will you feel.
What are your priorities?
.
Some people want everyone to like them but they end up disliking their own self. If people around you cannot accept what you need and want and don't respect it ... do you really want them in your Sacred Space?
.
When we create boundaries - we get stronger. When we get stronger - we can be more comfortably vulnerable.
"Strong like a backbone.
Vulnerable like an open hand."
~ Corri Milner
